Foodie Favorites – March 23, 2016

foodie favorites - march 23, 2016 // my bacon-wrapped life

A much-needed brunch break in the middle of the day on a big day of apartment hunting! Serpentine in Dogpatch totally hit the spot.

Hey guys! How’s your week going? We had the absolute best weekend – my mom and Brad’s parents came to visit for Brad’s graduation, and we spent the whole weekend eating and drinking our way around the Bay Area. What could be better?? I’m a little sad that our fun weekend is over and we’re back to regular old real life, where we actually have to eat healthy most of the time and drink in moderation. Oh well, that’s what Foodie Favorites are for, right?! Here is this week’s round-up!

This shredded chicken curry is going on my to-make list immediately. It looks so darn good!!

This tagalong-inspired chocolate peanut butter tart is speaking to my soul. So decadent and peanut butter-y!

The cutest sign we stumbled upon in Berkeley on an impromptu walk on a gorgeous February day! I could not agree more.

Hey everyone! How’s your week going? I absolutely cannot wait for this weekend – we are heading down to LA tomorrow for a weekend trip to Santa Barbara with my parents, Brad’s sister, and her boyfriend to visit our wedding venue and do our wedding food tasting!! This is clearly the best part of being engaged, so I am over the moon and can’t wait to try all the food, drink all the wine, and eat all the cake. I hope you have a delicious weekend to look forward to as well! In the meantime, let’s keep ourselves food-happy with this week’s Foodie Favorites!

These sausage kale French bread pizzas need to make an appearance in my life ASAP. So many of my favorite things!!

Slow cooker cannellini bean soup is so winter-perfect. I’m craving it even here in sunny California!

Foodie Favorites – November 19, 2015

foodie favorites - november 19, 2015 // my bacon-wrapped life

Wedding registering (!!!!) requires healthy sustenance (and booze).

Hey everyone! Are you in the full-blown Thanksgiving spirit yet? Even though Thanksgiving totally crept up on me this year, I could not be more excited and am eagerly counting down the days until next week. My mom and I are making these bacon roasted sweet potatoes, my all-time favorite pretzel bread stuffing, my future mother-in-law’s broccoli casserole, and pumpkin pie – so we should certainly have our work cut out for us! Thanksgiving is one of my absolute favorite days of the year, and I definitely feel like I have a lot to be thankful for this year. Let’s dive into the holiday spirit with this week’s Foodie Favorites!

Another incredible stuffing – this fig, herb, and sausage stuffing looks to-die-for. I absolutely love the idea of adding figs – what a perfect naturally sweet touch!

These salted chocolate pecan pie bars are calling to me. I never end up eating pecan pie on Thanksgiving because I love pumpkin pie and often find pecan pie a bit too much after such a big meal. These cute little bars look like the perfect compromise – so I can have my pumpkin pie and eat my pecan pie bars, too!

Foodie Favorites – November 5, 2015

foodie favorites - november 5, 2015 // my bacon-wrapped life

Pumpkin beer and the most epic pumpkin cake for my future sister-in-law Tara’s birthday last week. What, you don’t pair beer with your desserts too?

Hey guys! How’s your November going so far? It has finally cooled down a little bit in the Bay Area (we’re talking actual 50’s!!), and the falling temps combined with the whole dark-at-5 thing has me totally feeling the Fall love – FINALLY! I can’t wait to make chili and snuggle up with some wine and a movie and do it all up. I hope you’re embracing some Fall coziness, too. Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!

This creamy pumpkin spaghetti is going on my to-make list ASAP. It looks cozy yet healthy and hearty at the same time!

I wouldn’t trust myself around these epic double dark chocolate peanut butter cup cookies. How incredible do those look?!
