Foodie Favorites – June 18, 2014

Foodie Favorites - June 18, 2014 | www.mybaconwrappedlife.comGreek street food at the Wells Street Art Festival – seconds before I took one bite, then dropped the entire plate all over my lap and the curb. It was awesome (not).

Welcome to this week’s Foodie Favorites! Last week we talked about the best BBQ in Chicago instead, so I have lots of good stuff saved up for this week. Apparently I’m really into sweets lately? Let’s roll with it.

Chicken and Corn Enchiladas

Chicken and Corn Enchiladas | My Bacon-Wrapped Life

Thanksgiving is this week, and I could not be more excited! In my mind, there’s nothing better than a day full of spending time with family, cooking and eating great food, and drinking wine while celebrating everything you have to be thankful for. I’m feeling warm and snuggly just thinking about it.  T-4 days, people!

But when it comes down to it, I have truly yet to meet a pizza that I didn’t prefer to most other things. From hearty and heavy deep dish (I am a Chicagoan, after all) to cracker thin crust with a delicate spattering of toppings, I love them all and could easily eat pizza every day. So considering how much I love to cook and bake, it surprises even me that I’d never attempted my own pizza crust before.
