Five days from today, nine of my very best girlfriends and I will be descending upon the gorgeous desert town of Palm Springs, CA for a weekend of pool time, floppy hats, and irresponsible amounts of champagne. It’s my bachelorette party, ya’ll!!

I have been looking forward to this weekend ever since Brad and I got engaged. How often do I get to hang out with my best friends all at once for an ENTIRE weekend?! I absolutely can’t wait for a weekend of boozing and eating and lounging with my ladies, so I had to make something to celebrate this momentous occasion: date milkshakes!

I mean, this cake was just BEGGING for it. Is there a better combination than peaches and bourbon in the summertime? It’s pure Southern goodness, ya’ll.

Today is Halloween part deux, coming at you in the form of a slice of ooey-gooey spiced pumpkin cake and a big ol’ dollop of bourbon vanilla bean whipped cream.

I mean, is there any better way to do it?

This pumpkin cake also has the double distinction of being Brad’s sister Tara’s favorite birthday cake. Her birthday’s coming up this week, so not only are we celebrating Halloween, but also HAPPY BIRTHDAY TARA! I wish gooey pumpkin cake tasted as good with the eyes as it does with the mouf.
