Helloooooo, giant tray of enormous scones that we consumed in less than 24 hours.

What can I say? This is my all-time fave scone recipe, and I’ve been craving it for, I dunno, MONTHS. I’ve had this recipe on my short list to share with you guys basically since the blog started, and I decided it’s finally time to right my scone-withholding wrongs. Because this is a weekend to celebrate!! Yesterday, my parents and I drove up to Santa Barbara and Malibu to finally (!!) look at wedding venues and guys, it was so fun! We found a place we absolutely loved, and spending a day looking for the perfect place to get married was basically the best day ever. My point is: wedding venue touring dream day deserves some celebration dark chocolate chip cream scones. And champagne!! But first, scones.

Creamy Mango Green Smoothie

I swear, it’s merely a coincidence that my first blog post as a born-again California girl is a green smoothie.

Cross my heart. I made this bad boy when it was the middle of dreary, cold February in Chicago, when it seemed like everyone around me was sneezing and sniffling and I was like, “GREEN SMOOTHIE, HAAAAAALP!” I promise you, my bacon consumption will not decrease one single bit after moving to The Juicing State.

But can’t we have our bacon and our green smoothies, too?

One of my main foodie resolutions this year is to eat more whole, natural foods. I want to make as much of the food that we consume as I can at home, to control the ingredients and the flavors and make sure there’s no weird aspartame lurking where it shouldn’t. I mean, we all need some full-blown, no-holds-barred cheddar goldfish or potato chips every now and then, but for the everyday, I’d like to try to up the ante on the natural-ness of our food. Honestly, it’s not that I’m generally bad at this, but we all have room to improve, right?
