You know what the most overlooked part of Thanksgiving is?

That’d be Turkey Day breakfast. Talk about getting no love!

I know some people are in the “starve yourself all day to make more room for dinner camp”, and I could not disagree more. I am strongly in the hearty-breakfast camp. We need our energy for turkey-basting and stuffing-making and pie-baking! Also, let’s be real – if I don’t eat breakfast, I’m going to be a total hangry mess, and nobody wants that, right?

It’s officially November, and you know what that means….

THANKSGIVING!!!

I can barely contain my Thanksgiving excitement until the calendar flips over to November. It’s just the best, smushiest holiday ever and I love all Thanksgiving food so much. (Besides cranberry sauce. Cranberry sauce can go.) I look forward to our family’s Thanksgiving literally all year, so by the time November comes around, I already have visions of stuffing and sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie dancing in my head. It’s a tad embarrassing, but I don’t care – I know I have some Thanksgiving-dork soulmates out there, right?

Pumpkin beer and the most epic pumpkin cake for my future sister-in-law Tara’s birthday last week. What, you don’t pair beer with your desserts too?

Hey guys! How’s your November going so far? It has finally cooled down a little bit in the Bay Area (we’re talking actual 50’s!!), and the falling temps combined with the whole dark-at-5 thing has me totally feeling the Fall love – FINALLY! I can’t wait to make chili and snuggle up with some wine and a movie and do it all up. I hope you’re embracing some Fall coziness, too. Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!

This creamy pumpkin spaghetti is going on my to-make list ASAP. It looks cozy yet healthy and hearty at the same time!

I wouldn’t trust myself around these epic double dark chocolate peanut butter cup cookies. How incredible do those look?!

Maple Bacon French Toast Cups

Will I ever stop showing you recipes with “maple bacon” in the title?

Let’s be honest – probably not. The combination is just too good, people.

So let’s deal with the 500 pound bacon elephant in the room – bacon has not exactly had the best week, huh? To be honest, I’m not too perturbed by all of the processed-meat-craziness right now. My theory on bacon (and anything else decadent and delicious) remains the same: if you’re eating a pound of bacon for breakfast every day, you’re doing something wrong. If you’re using it sparingly to flavor your adorable little French toast cups, you’re doing something very, very right.
