Sangria from a much-overdue girl’s night – aren’t those the best?!

Hey everyone! Are you pumped for the Super Bowl this weekend? (Even if not for the football, at least for the food and beer and Katy Perry.) I am obviously making food, although I haven’t figured out exactly what yet. I’m sure it will involve these Blue Moon cupcakes, at least! In the meantime…here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!

How amazing are these bacon shortbread cookies?! These are basically the perfect cookies for me! I wish I was this crafty!

These caramelized onion and gruyere biscuits look like absolute heaven. French onion soup in biscuit form?! Shut the front door!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Chia Seed Pudding

peanut butter & jelly chia seed pudding // my bacon-wrapped life

So I’d like to introduce you to this here thing called chia seed pudding.

Well, chances are you’ve already heard of chia seed pudding. It’s been making rounds around the internet for a few years now. But like with all healthy food trends, I can be a little skeptical and a little late to the game. I’m always like, “IT CAN’T BE AS GOOD” and immediately dismiss said healthy food craze as a lame version of the real thing. But after baking up this incredible vegan zucchini bread earlier this summer, I decided I needed to start being a little more open-minded. (A little. vegan dark chocolate chip zucchini bread // my bacon-wrapped life

I did a little something crazy.

I made you something vegan. On a bacon blog. I KNOW.

But hear me out. First of all, let’s be real, this zucchini bread was never going to have bacon in it. Some things just aren’t meant to be. And I’ve just been so damn inspired by all the gorgeous vegan baked goods hovering around the food blogosphere lately (sticky buns, anyone?) that I have been dying to try my hand at some vegan baking. And boy, am I glad I did.

Fresh Blueberry Smoothie & Asparagus | www.mybaconwrappedlife.com

A fresh blueberry-peach smoothie and a giant bundle of asparagus from the farmers market

First things first: I had the best time at the Green City Farmers Market’s first outdoor weekend of the year. Brad was busy Saturday morning, so I had a “me” morning of strolling the farmers market leisurely, sampling everything, and watching adorable dogs and babies run around everywhere. Take-home spoils included: a fresh peach and blueberry smoothie made by a girl on a bike (seriously), a rhubarb spelt scone, an enormous bundle of asparagus, and an embarrassing amount of samples of Wisconsin cheese curds. I love the Midwest! I’m going to try to make it to the farmers market much more this year + hopefully share the seasonal goodness with you all on the blog! (Side note: why is every single person at farmers markets wearing gym clothes? There is NO WAY you ALL already worked out by 9am! Right…right?????)
