Well, we’re right in the thick of it, aren’t we? No matter how busy it always is, December is forever my favorite month of the year. Between holiday parties, birthdays (it’s both Brad + my birthday month!), gift shopping, decorating, and holiday baking galore, it’s pretty much an entire month full of things that I love. And, of course, the baking just might be my very favorite part (well, besides all the wine).
Today, we brunch. And pi(e). All at once!!
I wanted to make a delicious, decadent recipe for Easter brunch to share with you guys today, and couldn’t help but notice that tomorrow is the biggest nerd holiday of the year – pi day!! Since I am all about the two-for-one bang for your holiday buck (and am also a giant nerd), this “breakfast pie” (a.k.a. quiche) was just the ticket.
…Because it’s a three-day weekend. Because strawberries are here, and they are glorious. Because it’s the unofficial start of summer, and summer isn’t officially official without some decadent, buttery, fruity dessert.
Also because: do we really need an excuse to eat mini strawberry mascarpone tarts with a buttery graham cracker crust and tons of fresh mint on top?
No, no we do not, my friends.
Guys, in a little less than 2 weeks, the best food holiday of the year is upon us: The 4th of July!!
Well, maybe not the BEST. Thanksgiving and Christmas and the Super Bowl are pretty great, too. But it’s definitely the best of the summer food holidays, and we need to make sure we’re prepared.
