An incredible IPA at my new favorite brewery, Surly in Minneapolis! Touring this place was a highlight of our trip…we Greens like our beer!

Hi guys! Can you BELIEVE it’s August already? Have you been summer vacay-ing it up? I’m doing lots of little trips this summer – Minneapolis with my fam, then Chicago for our friends’ wedding, then a quickie trip out to wine country with some friends for lots and lots of wine. I’m currently in between trip #1 and trip #2, fighting off a stupid summer head cold and hoping to get my appetite back before Chicago this weekend (where it will be very, very necessary)! I have full faith there will be lots of food pics coming your way in any case! In the meantime, here are this week’s Foodie Favorites:

These fig and ricotta cheesecake popsicles are one of the prettiest pops I ever did see! I need to get my hands on some fresh figs before this summer is over.

These sprinkled cake donuts are gorgeous and super nostalgic – these bring back the best memories of Sunday morning trips to the corner donut store to pick up a dozen!

Yes, more Smitten ice cream. It’s just too photogenic – plus, this “nectarines and cream” flavor (with, uh, oatmeal cookie crumbles) totally blew my mind! I love this place!

Hey guys! How’s your week goin’? I’m kicking off my summer travel crazies this weekend with a trip to Minneapolis to visit my brother with my family, and I absolutely can’t wait!! I miss the Midwest-summer-lovin’ vibes so much, and the idea of sitting by a lake with a beer in my hand all weekend makes me feel completely warm and fuzzy inside. I hope you all have similar summer-fun weekend activities planned! Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites.

I love how this bourbon peach galette combines so many traditional Southern summer flavors with a totally modern twist. I could eat this whole beautiful thing!

Popsicles!! I’m not usually a big popsicle fan but these ultra-creamy vegan pb&j pops might change my mind. I am totally craving these!

His n’ hers burgers for the 4th of July!

Hey everyone! How was your 4th of July? We grilled up some huge burgers (see evidence above), ate blueberry crumble bars, and drank maybeeee a few too many beers – basically, a perfect day! The only sad part was that we didn’t get to see any fireworks due to that Bay Area fog. Oh well, there’s always next year! I hope your 3-day weekend was wonderful as well. Let’s make this post-holiday work week a little brighter with some Foodie Favorites, shall we?

Cookies and cream cookies. I have…no words. These look INSANE.

These spicy Brazilian bowls are calling to me. I mean, put fried plantains on anything and I’m there.

The best “brunchitizer” – a fresh-baked chocolate croissant from my favorite Berkeley brunch place, La Note!

Hey guys! How’s your week going? It’s been great summer weather here and I have been lo-ving it. We finished our (wonderful!) marathon of trips and visitors that has been the past month and a half and have been enjoying some quieter times and more cooking at home – the biggest perk of a quiet weekend, in my humble opinion! I’m loving getting back in the kitchen in a big way, especially with all the inspiring summer food out there on the internet. Here are this week’s super-summer-lovin’ Foodie Favorites!

I absolutely love the idea of jazzing up store-bought ice cream with these fancy dipped cones. “Semi-homemade” is always the best approach to entertaining in my opinion!

These avocado and ahi poke parfaits look so wonderful and refreshing. Although I’m not sure I’m brave enough to try to prepare raw fish at home?? Help!
